Walter was born July 28, 1920 on the family farm where the Hoeffner’s had lived since his father purchased the East Meadow Hotel in 1914.
Joined the East Meadow Fire Department in 1939 and attained the rank of Captain in 1943.
Was married to Mildred M. Rottkamp (sister of Robert Rottkamp) on August 30, 1947.
Walter passed away on March 28, 1963.
