East Meadow

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the newly re-constructed website of the East Meadow Fire Department. It is my hopes that you visit us often.

The East Meadow Fire District, which covers East Meadow as well as parts of Levittown and Westbury, spans over 7.5 square miles. Our 230 members respond from five fire stations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In 2022, the East Meadow Fire Department responded to well over 1500 calls for help from our community.

Your East Meadow firefighters, EMT’s, and Paramedics, stand ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to resolve your emergencies. We invite you to navigate through our website, learn more about the men and women who are there for you, and be proud to know such a strong volunteer organization exists within our town.

On April 4, 2022, our department reached its 93rd anniversary milestone in protecting our community. It is my honor to lead an organization of such rich history.

Elected as your Chief of Department for the 2nd time, I look ahead with great pride to lead our department in the highest of tradition of those Chiefs before me.
As I begin my term as Chief of the Department, I look forward to the challenges before me, working with my Assistant Chiefs James Walsh, Michael Wood, and Kurt Becker, to continue the outstanding work of the men and women of our great organization. Together, our Chiefs have a combined volunteer career of more than 100 years, and will collectively respond to nearly 2,000 emergencies this year.

Although the Pandemic by its definition is behind us, we continue to respond to Covid related emergencies on a lesser scale. As our organization continues its return to normal operations, I thank our members for all their cooperation in the countless changes we made during the Pandemic to keep our members safe, and well trained, while stepping up more than ever before, in protecting our residents.

At our new website you will find everything from a community notifications, latest fire and EMS news, and our calendar, to fire safety and prevention education, to the latest news, old news, how to become a member, to the weather, and our new Kids Zone with safe videos games and interactive fun that pertain to fire safety,
Save our site as a favorite on your cell phone. Our home page now displays our direct emergency and business numbers. Click on either and you can automatically call us when in need. Please look often as our site changes frequently.

With the warmer weather now upon us, we have added important seasonal information you should know about. We urge you to review this content to increase your personal safety and that of your loved ones.

We hope you enjoy our website and get a better picture of us, your community, and what you can do to keep your family safe. On behalf of my Assistant Chiefs, James, Michael, and Kurt, as well as the proud men and women of our department, we thank you for visiting our website and hope you visit again soon.
