Engine Company 2 along with the Chiefs and the Town of Hempstead will be gathering at Station 2 to dedicate a section of Park Ave to Ex-Captain James Landrigan, who sadly passed away in the Line of Duty on Thursday September 29th, 1977.
Ex-Captain Landrigan was a 16-year member of Engine Company 2 who Served as Captain in 1965 and again in 1970, being awarded 12 merit pins including a merit pin earned posthumously.
Ex-Captain Landrigan was also known for his courageous actions during the propane tank fires at NUMC as well as the brave rescue of a young child at a working house fire.
Ex-Captain Landrigan was an inspiration to all department members and an outstanding family man, who left behind his 2 young children at the time of his passing. For those who were not fortunate enough to meet Ex-Captain Landrigan, ask those members who did, about the legacy he left!
