Dick was born July 14, 1927.

During WWII Dick served the US Navy aboard a refueling tanker in the Pacific. He was honorably discharged on July 7, 1946 a Fireman 1st Class.

Dick married Dorothy on June 21, 1949 and they moved to East Meadow in 1953. He joined the EMFD Engine Co. #2 on June 17th, 1957.

Dick was one of the first Nassau County Medics on their ambulances and retired 31 years later.

He was active in VFW Post 2736 and a Past Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

Two of Dick’s proudest moments were seeing his grandson Richie graduate from Annapolis and get winged as a Navy Pilot.

He remained an active firefighter until he passed away on April 12, 2004.
