Fred was born in the East Meadow area on March 1st, 1909.
After serving in the US Army from 1927 until 1930 he joined Company 2 of the East Meadow Fire Department in 1931 at the age of 22 but was tragically stricken with Tuberculosis and died in May of 1932.
Fred was the uncle of Rose Kostynick .
Fred is buried in Greenfield Cemetery beneath a headstone that bears an East Meadow Fire Department Maltese Cross.
Sadly Fred was the first member of Company 2 to die while still an active member.
