On September 6th, the East Meadow Fire Department celebrating its 95th year of protecting our community as they hosted the 6th battalion parade and block party.
As the rain fell, the 6th Battalion fire departments and other neighboring departments proudly marched up East Meadow Avenue, much to the delight of a few hundred spectators who braved the weather along the parade route.
At the end, residents were treated to a block party with food, beverage, a kids zone, and rock band.
It was a great night for all who attended.
In the end, the East Meadow FD Color Guard took 1st place Best Appearing in the parade, as did the Nassau County Pipes and Drums, Junior Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary.
