On September 25th, the volunteers of the East Meadow Fire Department who normally have their firefighting expertise on full display, once more showed off their athletic ability as they participated in the Annual Town of Hempstead Fire Department Softball competition.
The regular season came to an end with East Meadow’s bravest making the Championship round with just the Valley Stream Fire Department standing in the way of EMFDs 2nd consecution championship.
In the end, East Meadow won the first game 11-5, and the second game 15-5 to cap off another great season led by team Captain Ex Chief / 2nd Lieutenant John McGee.
All season long our volunteers demonstrated outstanding power at the plate, smart base running, and exceptional plays in the field.
Congratulations to all the members who played during the season. You have proven your athleticism once again, which also translates to the outstanding efforts you put forth at a fire or emergency.
