EMFD Continues its Holiday Tradition for Our Community

With the 2022 holiday season in full swing, the time came for East Meadow volunteers to hit the streets to spread cheer in our community.

It all started on November 18th as members of the EMFD combined with local dignitaries, and Stew Leonard’s giving away 40 boxes of turkeys to families who need of that extra holiday boost. In total, Stew Leonard gave out more than 2,500 turkeys between all store locations.

On Sunday December 18th, the members of Engine Company # 2′ set put for their annual scheduled stops throughout town with Santa on his sleigh riding much to the delight of the waiting children and adults .

Then it was off to the Nassau County Medical Center where EMFD volunteers, led by Ex Chief James T. Darcey, made their annual trip to the hospital dropping off presents from their “Toys For Tots” program in hopes of putting huge smiles on the faces of children in the pediatric ward who may not be home for the holiday.

Other Companies throughout the town were found spreading cheer across our community.

It’s been a busy 3 years for the E.M.F.D. as we moved from the pandemic to a triple threat exposure of Covid variants, RSV, and the Flu that continues to have our Chiefs and EMS system running morning, day, and night.

Busy as they are, the time to share a smile with our community was as important to our members as it was for our community.
