This year, Wednesday, Sept 11, 2024, will mark the 23rd anniversary of the horrific events of September 11th, 2001.
So many lives lost. The innocent, the heroes, some from our own neighborhood, who lost their lives in the attacks.
For the past 23 years, many continue to become sickened from remnants of the exposure to the toxins from ground zero.
On September 11th, the East Meadow Fire Department will hold our annual candlelight vigil once again leading our community in an evening of prayer, songs, and speeches of resilience and determination as we stand together, one nation, under god, to remember those friends, family, and the heroes who perished from the events of September 11, 2001.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 7pm at the Veteran’s Memorial Park at the corner of Prospect Avenue and East Meadow Avenue. Please plan to arrive by 6:45 pm.
